In case you are really desperate for gift ideas for your friends and loved ones, the personal injury attorneys at Bulman Dunie have some gift ideas for you!
In all seriousness, these gifts are inexpensive tokens that may prove invaluable if your friend or loved one is injured and needs to file a lawsuit for bodily injury:
Safety first! It is great to have a pack of Band-Aids, gauze, antibiotic ointment, and other first-aid essentials if you are ever in an accident and you need basic medical attention. I also recommend a potentially life-saving emergency blanket (one of those shiny metallic-looking ones) if your car is inoperable and you need to stay warm in the cold elements.
If a picture is worth 1,000 words, a video of your accident is worth 10 times that. For less than a couple hundred dollars you could mount a device in your car that will turn into irrefutable evidence in court when the driver who rear-ends you claims that you cut them off, swerved into their lane, or were otherwise at fault.
We have an alarming number of clients who are injured while walking in cross-walks, jogging through neighborhood streets, or otherwise out and about as pedestrians. Traffic cameras and cameras mounted at businesses rarely capture images with the quality we’d like, if at all. Light sequencing reports provided by the local government do not give specific information as to whether your pedestrian crossing signal was lit when you entered the cross-walk. A body-worn camera would show your point of view and all signals giving you the right of way while crossing the intersection. Bonus—you may also pick up audio from a driver who is apologizing for hitting you!
Not all clients make it out of the neighborhood before getting injured. Sometimes accidents happen right in front of your house and there is no better way to record them than on your doorbell camera. These nifty stocking stuffers also could record incidents of vicious pets getting off-leash and other unfortunate situations that sometimes occur such as slippery sidewalks during the winter months.
Most of us are on the go all the time and sometimes our phones get low on charge. If you are in an accident or have another emergency, it is critical to have a well-charged phone to call 911, loved ones, a tow truck, and others who can help.
We at Bulman Dunie hope that you receive everything on your holiday wish list! We wish you a happy, healthy, and SAFE holiday season!
