If we have learned one thing from the feedback we’ve received from our readers, it’s that you love nothing more than posts about music, movies, and food.
Who are we to disappoint you?
The Fourth of July has come and gone, and we’re fully in summer cookout season.
With that, we asked BDBF attorneys to dish on their favorite summer cookout fare:
My favorite summer cookout food? Hot dogs! I only have them one time a year, on the Fourth of July.
My parents hail from Germany and Austria, so naturally the answer is Bratwurst. Sometimes, I sear on the grill first, then boil in beer and chopped onions, then throw back on the grill. Or, one can also boil in beer and onions first, and then grill to get the texture right. Either method is correct.
This may be controversial, but potato salad. Yes, it can absolutely send you to the emergency room (or at least cause lots of gastric distress) if not properly refrigerated. But so much versatility with even as much as a sprinkle of paprika or dice of celery or chop of bacon or swirl of egg yolk.
Steamed Maryland blue crabs and sweet corn on the Fourth of July! Favorite meal for my favorite holiday!
If we are talking barbecue, then there is only one answer: burgers and dogs! I love to grill, and I love to eat grilled foods, especially when slapped on potato buns. The only way to wash it all down is with ice-cold beer!
