For those looking to settle a dispute or negotiate an agreement outside of Court, the Mediation Practice Group at Bulman, Dunie, Burke & Feld, Chtd. can help. We work with mediation clients to find solutions that meet your needs. The Mediation Practice Group, led by partner Meg Rosan, Esq., serves both represented and unrepresented parties to mediate cases regardless of whether a suit has been filed.
The Mediation Practice Group works with clients to settle disputes in the following areas of family law:
The goal of mediation is to provide a voluntary process in which to resolve conflict. Mediation appeals to those seeking to maintain control over the outcome of their case, and avoid the time, expense and uncertainty of litigation.
Our attorneys provide an atmosphere free of judgment. We work closely with clients to gain a full understanding of their situation and collaborate on strategies to reach final agreement.
We keep the focus on your interests while exploring solutions. In matters of custody, our focus is on finding common ground that prioritizes the safety, well-being, and happiness of your child(ren) above all else.
Our ideal mediation case is one involving two parties equally committed to finding a consensus in an environment free of hostility. In working with our Mediation Practice Group, both parties must be willing to invest the time and transparency needed to reach a mutually agreed-upon solution in a respectful manner.
We know that finding common ground during a dispute with a former partner or co-parent can be difficult. But we are dedicated to building and maintaining a constructive space for that work to be done.
We do not impose terms, nor do we make decisions for you. We do not serve as your legal representative and recommend that all parties to mediation have separate counsel review any agreement before it is executed. Every aspect of your mediation process is confidential as set forth in our Mediation Agreement.
Should the need for follow-up or post-mediation support arise, we are willing and available to meet with clients after an agreement has been reached.
Our Mediation Group leader, Meg Rosan, Esq., believes in the power of mediation to leave families in control of their own custody, support and property cases, while avoiding protracted and costly litigation.
Family law mediation clients work with Meg because she is approachable and collaborative in her methods to assist represented and unrepresented parties alike in reaching a consensus.
Meg is a highly sought-after family law attorney in the D.C. area. She has been named one of the Top 50 female attorneys in Maryland, a Super Lawyer in the field of family law in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and a top Montgomery County family law attorney by Bethesda Magazine. Meg is a leader in the Montgomery County Bar, having co-chaired the committee developing the Bar’s strategic plan and co-chairing the Montgomery County Circuit Court Bench Bar Committee. She is a Barrister in the Montgomery County Inn of Court.
She has practiced in the family law and personal injury practice groups at Bulman Dunie for over 15 years. After attending 40 hours of general mediation training through the Maryland State Bar Association, and 40 additional hours of mediation training focused specifically on family law, Meg began serving as a mediator herself in 2019.
Meg is passionate about resolving family matters efficiently without sacrificing her eye for detail, and the best interests of your children. She serves as a mediator for cases regardless of whether suit has been filed. Meg also accepts court appointments. The Mediation Practice Group serves clients in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
